Surface coating in the modern Institute of Technology

Plantagchemie has set up a modern Institute of Technology with a practical orientation for its customers and its own development and training measures. An area of more than 1,000sqm. allows not only for practical, realistic applications but also for theoretical initial and further training of customers, own employees and students. Even complex painting line processes can be simulated with the machine equipment of the Institute of Technology.

Modern surface engineering under field conditions

The Institute of Technology of Plantagchemie was set up in order to meet the different demands of the customers. Here, varnish systems can be applied without interrupting the production flow of the customer. In fact, the customer can actively contribute to its varnish composition and can test new application techniques together with our engineers and chemists.

The demands on the varnish industry increase, especially considering the implementation of the new VOC regulations. The processes become more complex due to the conversion to water-based and UV systems. The entire process, starting with polishing and ending with mechanical and chemical requirements to the surface, has to be taken into consideration more and more. This was taken into account when the Institute of Technology was equipped.

In order not to limit the competence to the sector of industrial varnish technology, but also to consider the pre-treatment of the workpieces to be coated, a cooperation with the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe [University of Applied Sciences] was established. The university opens up and is available for answering questions concerning the subjects wood, derived timber products and material testing within the scope of the collaboration. In return, the students are trained in surface engineering at the Institute of Technology.
